‘On a Tuesday’: Bonus Scene with Grayson & Charlotte

by | Jan 5, 2021

Happy Tuesday!

This week, On a Tuesday is being released in the Spanish language (‘Fue un Martes’ 🙂 ), anddd I’m hoping the readers will love it enough to want On a Wednesday translated in the coming weeks as well. *fingers crossed*

Anyway, I’m up early brewing my favorite coffee (It’s another “read-through upcoming releases for the umpteenth time,” week!), and I figured a great way to celebrate this week’s translation was to pen a brand new bonus scene with Grayson & Charlotte!

If you read On a Tuesday, I hope you enjoy it!

**Note: The next book in this series, On a Wednesday, was inspired by Adele’s “Someone Like You,” and it features Grayson’s best friend, Kyle Stanton. Make sure to sign up for The F.L.Y. List, as I’m revealing the cover and blurb there first ahead of release.

**Unedited, please excuse any typos. I wrote this for fun <3*

I sat in the passenger seat of Grayson’s car, rereading his latest headlines for the umpteenth time. As much as I tried to deny it, my heart swelled with every printed word.

I felt like I was living in a dream, as if this was how our lives would’ve unfolded if a certain someone hadn’t stepped in the way.

Between the endless rounds of make-up sex all over my apartment and the conversations that I never wanted to end, he’d found a way to make good on all his promises in record time.

“I think you want to pick up right where we left off, as badly as I do…”

After reading them one more time, I set down my phone and glanced at the rearview mirror. The two-person security team he’d hired for me was now pulling into the vacant spot behind us.

“Charlotte?” Grayson put his car in park. “Are you alright? You’ve been quiet the entire drive.”

“I’m fine.” I nodded. “I was just thinking about us.”

“Is this a good start so far?” He tilted my chin up with his fingertips, looking into my eyes. “Or, do I need to do more?”

“I have a feeling you’re going to do ‘more’ anyway…”

“Glad you’re already aware of that.” He kissed me and stepped out, walking over to my side. He slipped his arm around my waist after helping me out of the car, and then he walked me toward my private warehouse.

I’d shown him the Rosy-gan gallery and the inner-workings of my scattered showrooms around the city last weekend, but I wanted to show him one final space.

“I’ll have to take a call in half an hour from my new agent,” he said. “He wants to make sure we get off to a good start.”

“Are you sure it’s a good idea to hire the same agent as Kyle?”

“Of course, it is.” He smiled. “This guy somehow transformed Kyle’s image from being an insatiable asshole to a hometown hero. There’s clearly nothing he can’t do.”

I laughed. I couldn’t argue with that.

“It’s right here.” I motioned for him to stop in front of a black iron gate that blocked an alley. “I had to beg the landlord to install this for me last year.”

“Why’s that?”

“Some guy tried to steal a few of my pieces,” I admit. “He got mad when I told him the price, and then he came back nights later with a crowbar.”

“Hmmm.” He kissed the back of my neck as I unlocked it.

I pushed it open and led him down to the third door on the right. I entered my password on the keypad and stepped inside.

Hitting the lights, I walked across the room–expecting him to follow me, but he stopped dead in his tracks.

“Wow…” His gaze was locked on the massive portraits that lined the far side of the wall.

Framed in silver, with tags that read “Not for sale…priceless,” were my favorite hand-painted images of us. Ones I could never bring myself to share or sell to anyone.

I stood in silence as he stepped closer to look at every picture in detail.

“I think the words on this one are a bit of a stretch…” He smiled, pointing at the one that featured me sitting in the skybox at Heinz Field, cheering for him on the field. “I don’t think you uttered the words, ‘Go Panthers, Go,’ in your entire four years at Pitt.”

“I definitely said it on the night you played for the championship.”

“Interesting…” He wrapped his arm around my waist. “I remember something far more fun about that night.”

I blushed. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

“All of these are fucking beautiful, Charlotte,” he said. “I take it that these last few are from the first Tuesday we met?”

“Yeah, but there’s more of them in another room behind this one,” I said. “I painted every Tuesday that we met, after we didn’t talk for a while. Highland Coffee, the art gallery, the bookstore…” I paused. “I couldn’t stop thinking about you, so I tried to paint you out of my life.”

“Did that ever work?”

“Clearly not…”

He looked down at me, looking torn between kissing me and pulling me down to the floor.

“Just so you know,” I said, looking into his eyes. “I won’t ever give or sell the paintings to you either. Even if you are the subject, I have a reputation for not letting anyone have one of these.”

“Is that so?” His lips curved into a smile. “What about in exchange for one of my M.V.P. trophies?”

I bit my tongue before the ‘Absolutely,’ could fall from my mouth.

“Depends,” I said. “Does it come with more sex?”

“That’s a given.”

“I’ll think about it.”

His phone suddenly sounded in his pocket, a faint “Appointment reminder” voice that I’d come to know since he walked back into my life. Even though he intended for those meetings to last for “only half an hour” or “just ten minutes,” they always took him away for more.

“Shouldn’t you call your new agent now?” I asked. “You want to make a good first impression, right?”

“I’m more concerned about making a second one with you.” He turned off his phone and pulled me down to the floor. “I’m not going to do anything else right now except continue making things up to you…”

The End, (again) for now.

(You’ll see these two again in On a Wednesday. 🙂 *

Make sure you’re on the F.L.Y. List, as I’m revealing the cover there first with more info. <3

Happy Tuesday + F.L.Y.,
